Tottenham Hotspur duo Yves Bissouma and Kevin Danso have both revealed that one of Manchester City’s top players this century was their footballing idol.

Tottenham are the talk of the town after winning the Europa League at Manchester United’s expense in Wednesday’s final in Bilbao.

Manchester City’s bitter rivals are not only trophyless this season but, unlike Pep Guardiola’s side, they now have no chance of playing in Europe next term.

Ahead of the final, a number of Tottenham players were asked who their idols were growing up, and two picked one of City’s most iconic midfielders.

Yaya Toure’s Manchester City career

Toure joined City from Barcelona in 2010 for a fee of around £24million, which turned out to be one of the bargains of the decade.

The Ivory Coast international became a star at City, making 316 competitive appearances and registering 80 goals and 45 assists for the Etihad Stadium side.

Toure also won three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and three League Cups at City to go along with a host of other trophies won elsewhere.

He lifted a Champions League trophy at Barcelona, along with two La Liga titles, a Spanish Cup, a Spanish Supercup, a UEFA Supercup and a Club World Cup.

Toure also won the Africa Cup of Nations with his country in 2015.

Toure recently spoke about his career as he revealed what shocked him about his first day at Man City.
