Leeds United have turned their attentions to an Everton player as they look to strengthen their side this summer.

The Whites secured promotion back to the Premier League and will be looking to avoid relegation next season.

They secured 100 points in the Championship, but there are still deficiencies in the squad that need addressing.

Despite his contract running out and him being available for nothing, there is solid interest from the Middle East, potentially even from the Saudi Pro League.

They are said to be willing to offer him a lucrative deal that would put him beyond the reach of the Elland Road outfit.

Everton need to be methodical in their process to replace Doucoure

Replacing Doucoure at Everton requires a strategic approach, given his pivotal role as a dynamic, goal-scoring midfielder.

The Toffees should target a box-to-box player with similar physicality, work rate, and attacking output, ideally suited to David Moyes’ high-energy system.

A prime candidate could be a versatile midfielder like Sean Longstaff, whose Premier League experience and ability to contribute defensively and offensively align with Doucoure’s profile.

Scouting should prioritise players aged 25-28, ensuring both immediate impact and longevity, with a budget-conscious transfer fee of £10-15million due to Everton’s financial constraints.

Alternatively, promoting from within could complement a new signing.

The Merseyside outfit must also leverage data analytics to identify players with high pressing stats and goal involvements, while ensuring the recruit adapts to the club’s gritty, fan-driven culture to seamlessly fill Doucoure’s role.
