'As of now': Everton's current stance on coveted 14-goal South American striker now shared -…

Everton are facing a huge summer, with new strikers surely on the agenda for David Moyes.

Everton managed to stay in the Premier League with ease in 2024/25 in the end, and with a 2-0 win over Southampton last weekend, confirmed they will finish 13th this term.

That is a very respectable finish considering how much trouble Everton were in around Christmas time.

When Sean Dyche left the club in January, Everton were just one point above the relegation zone.

Fans were extremely pessimistic, but Moyes came in and saved Everton’s bacon.

The Scot has made a terrific impact, but he, Angus Kinnear and The Friedkin Group now have big jobs on their hands to ensure the squad is ready for 2025/26, with many players set to leave.

A few are already confirmed to be leaving, such as Joao Virginia, Asmir Begovic, Ashley Young and Abdoulaye Doucoure.

But Everton will also lose Armando Broja, who’ll return to Chelsea after his loan and possibly Dominic Calvert-Lewin too, whose contract is about to expire.

It’s been reported by Italian journalist Rudy Galetti that Everton currently aren’t contemplating a swoop for Castellanos.

He states that Everton are in the market for new forwards.

But the Argentina international, at this time, is not someone the club are looking at.

And Galetti offers a couple of reasons why that may be the case.

🚨❌ #Everton are not considering a move for #Castellanos, despite rumours.

📃 #EFC are exploring some options for next season, but the 🇦🇷 ST is not on their list as of now.

He said on X: “#Everton are not considering a move for #Castellanos, despite rumours. #EFC are exploring some options for next season, but the ST is not on their list as of now.

“#Lazio see Taty as a key piece for the future, and the player is happy with his role at the team.”

This season, Castellanos has scored 14 goals and made eight assists in 38 appearances.

Everton eyeing other strikers amid new Castellanos claim

So Everton appear not to be looking at Castellanos, at least for the time being.

Perhaps it’s one to keep an eye on though, with TFG looking to be bullish in their first summer transfer window.

That said, the stance of the player seems quite firm, and so Everton – as well as other clubs like Nottingham Forest and Wolves – may be set for disappointment.

But Everton are said to be looking at Liam Delap, although given the interest in him that could be a difficult one to do.

Brian Brobbey has also been linked with Everton, after a decent campaign over in the Netherlands with Ajax.
