Report: £50m player is now looking to do a U-turn at Man City after Pep Guardiola's 'quit'…

Changes are coming to Manchester City this summer.

Pep Guardiola’s squad have experienced a very tough campaign as the Manchester club went from winning the Premier League four times in a row to having to secure a place in the Champions League on the final day of the season.

There have been many reasons for this, with Man City failing to revamp their squad last summer being the main one, in addition to Rodri suffering a long-term knee injury at the start of the season.

This week, Guardiola has stated that he would “quit” Man City if changes to his squad size are not made, and in light of this, one key player hopes to work his way into the Spaniard’s plans ahead of the new campaign.

Kyle Walker still hopeful of Man City return

“I said to the club I don’t want that [a bigger squad],” Guardiola told the press after Man City’s win over Bournemouth on Tuesday night via Sky Sports. “I don’t want to leave five or six players in the freezer. I don’t want that. I will quit. Make a shorter squad, I will stay.”

The legendary coach is very likely to get his wish as City plan to sell several stars this summer, and one of the names on the list is Kyle Walker after he left for AC Milan on loan in January.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Walker will 100 per cent leave Man City this summer, but Manchester Evening News has now stated that the defender feels like the door is still open for him to return to Man City this summer.

The report states that Guardiola is unlikely to bring the 34-year-old back into the fold at Man City, despite being a crucial player since his £50m move in 2017, after he chose to leave in January when the club was at its worst, but it remains to be seen where the Englishman goes next.

Several other names will follow Walker out the door, with many fans of the Manchester club hoping that fan favourite, Jack Grealish, is not one of them.

Other Man City players Pep Guardiola will look to sell

Grealish has been told to leave Man City this summer by many pundits as it has become clear that the winger is no longer part of Guardiola’s plans at the Etihad Stadium.

There is also doubt around the future of Ilkay Gundogan at Man City as Guardiola is open to letting the German leave, while another veteran star in Bernardo Silva could also be heading for the exit door.

The report also states that Kalvin Phillips, Maximo Perrone, Scott Carson and Kevin De Bruyne are all guaranteed to leave, while Claudio Echeverri could be sent out on loan.

Major changes are coming to the Manchester club over the coming weeks, as Guardiola has a plan to get his team back to where they belong.
