Vasilije Micic dismissed rumors linking him to Hapoel Tel Aviv, emphasizing his desire to play and his current NBA contract with the Phoenix Suns.
Phoenix Suns playmaker Vasilije Micic is currently one of the most sought-after players on the market. Many reports link him to Hapoel Tel Aviv.
For the first time, he addressed these rumors in a flash interview with Bojan Brezovac of Mozzart Sport.
"First of all, I want to play, and that's what I really wanted for these two years. I still have a valid contract in the NBA, more precisely with the Phoenix Suns, and that's something that can't be ignored," Micic said before the 2025 EuroLeague Final Four opening conference.
"Honestly, I haven't read the news for the last 10 years, and I hear all the rumors from my friends," he added. "I think it's normal to talk about my engagement, but it's all speculation, and there's really no need to advertise until something is official."
Hapoel owner Ofer Yannay earlier revealed that he's been in talks with Micic for several months.
Micic's current contract is up for a team option worth $8.1 million this offseason. The Serbian guard appeared in just five games for the Suns this past regular season.
