The Pacers swiped Game 1 in an overtime thriller (138-135) to flip home-court advantage in a back-and-forth between scorching offenses. Tyrese Haliburton delivered 31 points and 11 assists while forcing overtime with a 23-foot dagger as time expired in the fourth quarter. Teammate Aaron Nesmith also went for 30 points as the Pacers hit 51-of-100 shots and saw all five of their starters score at least 14 points.

The Knicks countered with big efforts from Jalen Brunson (43 points) and Karl-Anthony Towns (35 points, 12 rebounds) and got to the free throw line 40 times in the losing effort. The Knicks shot 51.1% from the floor themselves, showcasing two sharp offenses likely to slug it out again in Game 2.
