Liverpool are preparing for a busy summer transfer window as they aim to bolster their squad for the upcoming Premier League title defence.

The Reds only made one signing last summer, securing Federico Chiesa from Juventus in a cut-price deal. However, due to fitness problems, the winger has only started four matches across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are poised to welcome goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili to Anfield after agreeing a deal with Valencia last summer, while Jeremie Frimpong is on the brink of finalising a move from Bayer Leverkusen.

Frimpong is set to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is tipped to join Real Madrid after announcing his departure from Liverpool when his contract runs out at the end of the season.

Here, the Daily Star Sport looks at the latest Liverpool transfer news.

As per Cadena SER, Darwin Nunez is eager for a switch to Atletico Madrid this summer after falling down the order under Arne Slot.

The report suggests that Nunez has 'made it clear' he wishes to join Atletico and that he has already settled terms with the LaLiga club. However, Atletico are yet to strike a deal with Liverpool.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly confident that Nunez will find his best in Spain and excel alongside ex-Manchester City ace Julian Alvarez, who has netted 29 goals across all competitions since his arrival last summer.
