Nick Cushing’s side delivered a strong performance in Portugal to begin our quest for glory with a 4-0 win over Rosengard in our first Group 1 assignment.
The Blues collected our maiden point at the competition thanks to goals from Aoba Fujino, Kerolin Nicoli (two) and Aemu Oyama.
Japan forward Fujino opened the scoring with a fizzed effort from the edge of the area before the Brazil international doubled our lead shortly after with a fine strike of her own.
We then carried our lead and clean sheet into the second half before Kerolin Nicoli weaved into the Rosengard box and coolly dispatched.
Oyama set the seal on a fine performance with a fine effort after skipping past her marker and slotting home.
