Manchester United were defeated on Wednesday night in the Europa League final, with the performance a massive disappointment.
After remaining unbeaten in the competition for the entire 14 games, to lose at the final hurdle in such wimpish fashion was frustrating.
Manchester United never looked like beating Spurs on Wednesday, despite having all the possession and chances. The sad fact is that there was no danger to Tottenham, who were happy to hold onto their 1-0 lead, parked up in their own half.
There were several selection errors made by Ruben Amorim, which he will regret for months as he rues the chance to lift silverware and give fans something to believe in.
United losing 1-0 to Spurs was a stark reminder of how far the club has fallen, and an example of how long it might take to return to the top table of football.
There were a handful of bad performers for United, with four players sealing their fate this summer.

Andre Onana
One player who is widely speculated to be on Ineos’ summer exit list is Andre Onana, with the Cameroonian goalkeeper having a season to forget, leaving fans with zero confidence in his ability.

In the final, he was once again in the headlines for the wrong reasons after a poor attempt to keep the ball out of his net, as it almost went through his hand after deflecting off Luke Shaw. Onana had a poor final performance, which won’t make his case to remain any stronger.
Onana is not a bad goalkeeper and will likely go elsewhere and rediscover some form, but this performance should be the final straw.
Casemiro
Another player who should be on the list to sell this summer is Casemiro, as despite a revival in the Europa League this season, he faltered in the final.
Casemiro, as beloved as he is, cannot handle Premier League opposition anymore, as proven by his collapse in the final against the only English opposition United faced in the competition.
With no European football next season, United have no place for Casemiro, and therefore, selling this summer to clear him off the wage bill should be an obvious decision.
Luke Shaw
Another player who should be on the way out this summer is Shaw, who scored the own goal that handed Spurs the trophy but his performance was poor even beyond that.
Shaw looked sluggish and poor on the ball, which impacted United’s build-up and attacking play. On the other side, Leny Yoro was rampaging forward and making things happen.
The English defender was poor on the night, and if possible, he should absolutely be sold this summer by United. The only problem will be finding suitors.
Rasmus Hojlund
Rasmus Hojlund is an unfortunate one, with everyone desperate for him to turn out a success, but the reality is he just is not good enough right now.
Hojlund was instantly outperformed by Joshua Zirkzee in less than half the minutes, and once again, for large periods, he offered absolutely nothing to United.
Poor movement and also scuppering the half chances he had mean selling this summer should be considered in order to see two new strikers arrive.
