John Calipari has coached some of the best talent to come through the NBA over the past several years.
While he's currently the head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks, Calipari used to lead one of the most talented rosters, year in and year out, with the Kentucky Wildcats.
Some of these players include Devin Booker, Karl-Anthony Towns, DeMarcus Cousins, John Wall, Rajon Rondo and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
With all of the talent that's passed through Calipari, only one of them has achieved the feat of winning the NBA MVP.
Gilgeous-Alexander recently won the prestigious award, prompting a message from Calipari.
"I’m so proud of Shai," Calipari said. "He earned the MVP through his work, competitive spirit, championship demeanor, along with being a GREAT TEAMMATE!!! Congrats @shaiglalex."
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander played under head coach John Calipari from 2017 to 2018. After making a name for himself with the Kentucky Wildcats, he declared for the draft and was ultimately selected with the No. 11 overall pick in 2018.
Now, he's showing out in the big leagues. During his MVP season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Gilgeous-Alexander posted 32.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game.

John Calipari has been vocal about his support for former players.
While he spent time congratulating Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on social media, Calipari was also recently in attendance for the New York Knicks versus Indiana Pacers Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
"At the Knicks game tonight," Calipari said. "Have to go see OKC/Minnesota next week. Always support my guys."
A few players left standing in the NBA playoffs from the Calipari lineage include Karl-Anthony Towns from the Knick's, Gilgeous-Alexander and Cason Wallace from the Thunder, Isaiah Jackson on the Indiana Pacers and Julius Randle and Rob Dillingham on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
