Gary Neville says something could happen for the first time in 14 years as Man City face Fulham

Man City travel to Fulham on the final day of the Premier League season.

Pep Guardiola’s men had a huge win on Tuesday night as City’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth, courtesy of a stunning Omar Marmoush goal, means that the Manchester club just need a draw against Fulham on the final day of the season to secure Champions League football for next season.

The West London club have been in mixed form of late, however, Craven Cottage will not be an easy place for Man City to go, as big clubs have found out this season, with Premier League champions Liverpool losing 3-2 to Marco Silva’s men last month.

Gary Neville thinks it will be a tight game between both sides, and that is evident in the Sky Sports pundit’s prediction.

Gary Neville predicts Man City to draw with Fulham

Man City and Fulham played out a thriller when they last met in the Premier League, with Guardiola’s men coming away 3-2 winners, courtesy of a Mateo Kovacic brace.

Ben Foster was impressed with Kovacic during that contest, but the Manchester club will be missing the midfielder this time around as the Man City star is set to undergo surgery to be ready for next season after being sent off on Tuesday against Bournemouth.

When asked to predict Sunday’s game on the latest episode of Stick To Football, Neville went with a 1-1 draw between Fulham and Man City.

This result would go down well with Fulham fans as the London club have an awful record against City, with the Cottagers failing to take a point off the Manchester club since a 2-2 draw in 2011.

As a result, Guardiola has an impeccable record against Fulham and will be confident of getting all three points on Sunday to secure City’s spot in next season’s Champions League.

Pep Guardiola’s record against Fulham

Guardiola has an impressive record against most Premier League clubs since arriving at Man City in 2016, but when it comes to Fulham, it is flawless.

The legendary coach has faced the London club 12 times and has won all 12, resulting in a points per game ratio of three.

Therefore, Neville’s prediction can be seen as a bold one, but a draw would not surprise football fans despite Guardiola’s record against the Cottagers, as Man City have proven to be unreliable throughout the current campaign.
