More good news on way for Tottenham man after Europa League final success

Tottenham forward Richarlison could be set for a return to the Brazil set up, with Carlo Ancelotti including him in his first pre-list.

That’s [according to GE Globo](https://ge.globo.com/futebol/futebol-internacional/liga-europa/noticia/2025/05/22/richarlison-vive-redencao-com-o-tottenham-ao-conquistar-primeiro-titulo-na-europa.ghtml?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=Social&utm_content=Esporte&utm_campaign=globoEsporte), who say the Tottenham forward’s redemption arc after winning the Europa League on Wednesday is set to continue with a return for Brazil.

That trophy was the first of his career in Europe and marked a major positive point in what has been an injury plagued two-year spell since a move from Everton.

He started the game in place of Son Heung-min, a further sign of his growing importance at Tottenham and trust from manager Ange Postecoglou.

He’s now hoping to kick on and get his Tottenham career on track, starting with a proper pre-season, which he hasn’t had in some time.

“I gave my life on the field, I got cramps in both calves, very intense. A difficult season, injuries, even getting into rhythm is difficult. I hope to have a good pre-season, I haven’t had one in two years,” he is quoted as saying.

Before that, though, his eyes are on the Brazilian national team and GE report that there is good news on that front too.

According to their information, Richarlison is close to returning to the national team. He is on Carlo Ancelotti’s preliminary list for the Italian’s first games. The official 23-man list for the clashes against Ecuador and Paraguay will be released on Monday.

The Tottenham forward hasn’t played for the national team since October 2023, and he admits he’s relishing the opportunity to work under Ancelotti again.

“Since you’re talking about it, it’s good that I’m on the preliminary list,” he added.

“I hope to be called up, I worked with Ancelotti (at Everton), I had my two best seasons in Europe with him. If I return, I’ll be very happy.

“I think the players will respect more with him there, a winner, someone who knows the path to victory. They’ll run more on the field to sweat it out.”
