Former Manchester United star reveals plan to return

Manchester United have been busy planning for the future, with Ruben Amorim shaping a squad to challenge for trophies and promising young talents coming through the ranks.

The club’s academy continues to produce hopefuls eager to leave their mark on Old Trafford, while former players have taken varied paths after leaving the Theatre of Dreams.

The Premier League giants are also navigating a busy summer transfer window with several key players expected to move on.

Meanwhile, coaching badges and post-retirement ambitions are becoming a focal point for ex-players looking to stay connected to the game and their former clubs.

One such player is Ravel Morrison, the former United academy product whose career has been a rollercoaster ride of incredible talent and unfulfilled potential.

Ravel Morrison, once tipped to become a first-team star alongside the likes of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard, left Manchester United in 2012 after struggles with injuries and off-field issues.

His career since has seen him travel the globe, featuring for no fewer than 14 clubs including West Ham, Lazio, and most recently Precision FC in Dubai, where he scored nine goals in 20 appearances.

Despite the ups and downs, Morrison has now revealed his intentions to return to Manchester United in a coaching capacity once his playing days are over.

Speaking on the Undr the Cosh podcast, he stated: “I’ve got my B licence now – I did it in the summer.

“I do want to get into some type of coaching [after I retire]. That’d be good. I’d like to go back to United!”

Sir Alex Ferguson, who once described Morrison as having “as much natural talent as any youngster we ever signed,” also acknowledged the challenges the player faced outside football, saying: “The boy had a good heart.

“He was just beaten by his background.”

With his coaching qualifications underway and a desire to return to the club where it all began, Morrison’s story could come full circle, adding an intriguing layer to Manchester United’s ongoing evolution.
