Ruben Amorim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe shared a 'brief embrace' after Manchester United's defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.
Amorim's side suffered a 1-0 defeat in the final, with Amorim looking naturally disappointed as they once again failed to produce this season. Having a United side finish in the bottom half of the Premier League without any trophies would usually come hand-in-hand with being sacked, but the Portuguese manager does have excuses.
Amorim is yet to be backed with a summer transfer window since his arrival, and joining in the middle of the season meant he was taking over the mess left by Erik ten Hag. It will be interesting to see whether Ratcliffe and INEOS remain patient or if they believe what they've seen from Amorim hasn't been enough.

According to Manchester Evening News, Amorim and Ratcliffe were spotted together after the game, with both looking on with 'glum' faces. It's claimed that they shared a quick embrace, but neither, understandably, looked best pleased.
It may have been a nervous encounter for Amorim, who will be desperate to deliver for INEOS, and it's not quite worked out for him this season. It's been a dismal campaign, but the Europa League final was an opportunity to salvage something.

Lifting trophies is, of course, important, but perhaps more significantly, winning the Europa League will have qualified United for the Champions League. The Red Devils now won't play in Europe at all, which could make it difficult for them to attract new signings and convince players to stay with the club.
Ratcliffe and INEOS will have some major decisions to make in the summer, and it will be interesting to see whether they opt to stick with Amorim or head in another new direction.
