Player set to return to West Ham after injury and ‘poor 2025’ – Shame as it had been going well

Nayef Aguerd is set to return to West Ham United from Real Sociedad this summer, with a ‘poor 2025’ putting an end to permanent transfer ideas.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who report that the defender is looking to end his stay in Spain on a low point as he’s out with a knee injury.

He is a serious doubt for the end of the season and currently looking likely to miss his last opportunity to wear the Real Sociedad shirt.

The centre-back is set to return to West Ham in the summer as he’s had a ‘poor 2025’ that has essentially ruined his time at the Spanish club. Injuries have been a particular problem and are keeping him out of action towards the end of the season.

It’s a disappointing end to what had been a good loan spell before the turn of the year. Aguerd had openly discussed how pleased he was with the deal and Real Sociedad were also delighted.

Now a disappointing few months this year has seemingly ruined all of that and he’ll be heading back to West Ham at the end of the season.
