Mike Vrabel still loves everything about the Ohio State football program

The Ohio State football program has a lot of alumni who have gone on to not just play in the NFL, but also coach in it. The Buckeyes prepare players for life after college football. That's something that has been important to them for quite a long time.

Mike Vrabel is one of those former players. He actually was able to play for the Buckeyes, play in the NFL for a number of years, and come back and coach for them. He was on staff under Urban Meyer, and plenty of [fans were hoping Ohio State would hire him as their head coach](https://scarletandgame.com/signing-with-the-patriots-ends-any-chance-former-buckeye-coaches-ohio-state) if they fired Ryan Day.

Of course, Day was not fired because the Buckeyes ended up winning the national championship last season. That doesn't mean that Vrabel doesn't still love the Buckeyes. In fact, he wants them to keep doing as well as possible under Day for years to come.

Mike Vrabel shares his love for the Ohio State football program

During an appearance on The Triple Option, Vrabel talked with Urban Meyer about how much he still loves the program and how much he still follows everything that happens.

Vrabel talked about taking Patriots offensive line coach Doug Marrone to Buckeye Grove and other landmarks around campus when he was in Columbus for Ohio State's Pro Day. Marrone was clearly impressed with all of the tradition and history that the Buckeyes had on display.

It's cool to see Vrabel taking some of his NFL staffers around campus to show everything that Ohio State has to offer. It's a special place, and Vrabel reiterated that when he was talking to Meyer. He talked about how he can take that fact for granted sometimes.

Vrabel will continue to follow the Buckeyes and how they do every season. It will be a little tougher for him to do now that he is the head coach of an NFL team once again.
