As reported by RG, multiple scouts see Atlanta as a strong fit for the 6-foot-11 shot blocker, who has drawn late-lottery interest due to his defensive upside and mobility.
With veteran big man Clint Capela set to enter free agency, Beringer could provide an immediate presence as a rim protector and pick-and-roll finisher in a lineup led by Trae Young. Atlanta does have Onyeka Okongwu at the center position,
Beringer played the 2024–25 season for Cedevita Olimpija in Slovenia, where he averaged 4.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks across 51 games. While still raw offensively, his length, timing, and agility on the defensive end have drawn comparisons to past international success stories who carved out roles as modern bigs.
Beringer’s fit with Atlanta is particularly appealing due to the team’s emphasis on floor spacing and guard-driven offense. He would not be asked to create in the post but rather defend in space, set screens, and finish around the rim—areas where he’s shown encouraging flashes.

The 18-year-old didn’t begin playing organized basketball until late 2021 after outgrowing soccer cleats and joining a small local club in Strasbourg. His rise has been rapid, including a standout showing at the 2024 FIBA U18 European Championship and a season that saw him lead the Adriatic League in block percentage.
While his game remains a work in progress, Beringer’s physical tools and defensive instincts have positioned him as a high-upside prospect—and Atlanta is one of the teams keeping a close watch.
There's another layer to consider about Atlanta as a potential landing spot. It wouldn't hurt Beringer to join a Hawks team that already has fellow French standout Zaccharie Risacher as he adjusts to the NBA, who just went through what Beringer will experience as a rookie.
