Liverpool are already gearing themselves up for a busy summer transfer window, with numerous players being linked with an Anfield switch.
Even though Liverpool have been a dominant force in the Premier League this season, they’re already making plays in the market with Jeremie Frimpong on the cusp of confirming his Anfield move.
Others, such as Milos Kerkez and Florian Wirtz, have also been linked with Liverpool, but at the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what lies ahead for Arne Slot and co.

And after Liverpool tried to sign Julian Alvarez last summer, links between the Reds and the World Cup winner have emerged once again, with Atletico Madrid since revealing what it will take to bring the 25-year-old to Anfield
Liverpool need to table a massive bid to prise Julian Alvarez away from Atletico Madrid
As per a report from El Chiringuito journalist Matias Palacio, both Arsenal and Liverpool are “very interested” in acquiring Alvarez’s services this summer.
The striker has been in fine form this term, and an exit could be “possible” so long as some of Atletico Madrid’s demands are met.
“Meetings will begin next week with several clubs interested in Julián Alvarez,” Palacios said.
“Arsenal and Liverpool are very interested in the striker.

“If the offer is higher than what Atlético paid less than a year ago, it will be brought to the club’s board of directors to make the exit possible.”

While these are all just rumours at the moment, the fact that Liverpool’s hat is being thrown into the ring for players of Alvarez’s calibre is surely a sign of things to come.
However, the fact that a fee higher than the £81million that Atletico paid will need to be spent to bring him to Anfield could throw a spanner in the works.
Julian Alvarez would be an ideal transfer for Liverpool
Although Alvarez may have some history with Manchester City, the Argentina international would still be a rather impressive acquisition on Liverpool’s behalf.
The attacker is the exact sort of profile that Slot needs in his number nine as he’s fast, has a keen eye for goal and has the ability to hold up play if and when needed.
In addition to his aforementioned skillset, Alvarez has also been in fine form this season, with the striker contributing to 35 goals across all competitions.

Champions League 10 7 1
The 2024-25 season of Julian Alvarez in numbers.
Of course, only time will tell what the summer transfer window has in store for Liverpool, but with the way things have gone so far, it’s hard to see how there won’t be at least two or three additions to the squad before the 2025-26 campaign kicks off.
And, if by some miracle Alvarez is among those arriving, there’s no knowing how dominant Liverpool could be.
