Kevin De Bruyne’s Manchester City career is close to its end.
The Belgian superstar will leave City at the end of the season upon the expiration of his contract and it looks like De Bruyne will continue his story with the Chicago Fire in MLS.
Tuesday night saw the midfielder play his final game at the Etihad Stadium as Pep Guardiola’s men defeated Bournemouth 3-1, and it gave Man City fans the chance to thank De Bruyne for his 10 years of service.
The goodbye content around the 33-year-old will continue all week, and while picking the best 11 he played with at Man City, the Belgian believes a current City star has been better than Yaya Toure in Manchester.

Kevin De Bruyne picks Ilkay Gundogan over Yaya Toure
Man City have asked De Bruyne to pick his best 11 from the teammates he has played with at the Etihad Stadium, and the Belgian had some tough choices to make.
Others have been picking between De Bruyne and the likes of Steven Gerrard, and now the shoe is on the other foot for the midfielder.

The 33-year-old had some tough choices when it came to his midfield, but the veteran star went with Ilkay Gundogan over Toure.
“I’ll probably take Yaya and Samir out, because I have not played long enough with them, for me. They were so, so good,” De Bruyne told Man City’s YouTube channel.
“I’m tossing it up between Gundo and Bernardo (Silva). How do you choose between them? It is not like he has been so, so good and the other one has been just good. Everyone has been so high. I have played with Gundo and Bernardo the same amount of games.
“I’ll probably pick Gundo, because Gundo was more that position. Bernardo floated in and out of that position, he also played on the right a little bit more. I’ll pick Gundo for the midfield.”
The decision is definitely one many Man City fans would have struggled with, but the German would have got the nod with the majority of them as he is a hero to supporters of the Manchester club.

How Ilkay Gundogan’s Man City career compares to Yaya Toure
Gundogan will appear in most Man City fans’ all-time 11s as the German has created some historic moments for the Manchester club, no more so than his brace against Aston Villa in 2022 that won City the Premier League on the final day.
Toure also had some special moments in a sky blue shirt, but unfortunately for him, Gundogan’s stand out more to fans.
When it comes to numbers, Gundogan has featured 353 times for Man City, with the midfielder producing 62 goals and assisting a further 45 times, winning every major trophy possible along the way.
Toure trumps this, although the Ivorian has played fewer matches with 316 appearances, the former Man City star scored 80 goals and assisted 45.
However, stats do not tell the full story between these two, and although they are impressive, the moments Gundogan created for Man City fans just have the German ahead in the battle.
