It appears team building for a new era is already under way at Leicester City amid reports they have scouted a young striker in Sweden.
The Foxes already have the formidable task of trying to replace club legend Jamie Vardy next season, as well as preparing for life back in the Championship after a second relegation in three seasons.
And while 19-year-old Ezekiel Alladoh may not be ready to fill Vardy’s sizeable shooting boots just yet, Stockholm media outlet Expressen, relayed by Fotboll Transfers , claim the Foxes are nonetheless keen.
The Ghanaian currently plays for IF Brommapojkarna in the Swedish top-flight, scoring five goals in 12 games since his January arrival from Accra Lions in his home country.
The Expressen report claims Leicester could make an offer for Alladoh, who is valued at just €250,000 by the website Transfermarkt, but it seems they face competition for his signature.
According to Sportbladet, another Swedish media outlet, Brommapojkarna could receive bids from at least three other clubs for Alladoh this summer, suggesting his potential fee is likely to rise in the coming months.
The City hierarchy will hope by not too much as they negotiate another tricky player spending situation after being charged by the Premier League on three counts this past week.
It is likely the Foxes will start their campaign to win promotion back to the top-flight carrying the burden of a significant points deduction, but a reshaping of the team taken down by Ruud van Nistelrooy was always likely regardless of their PSR plight.
Even van Nistelrooy’s involvement at the club seems unlikely amid reports talks have already taken place with Russell Martin, the sacked Southampton boss, to take over team affairs at the King Power. He is the current 5/6 favourite to be named the club’s next manager, followed by Sheffield Wednesday’s Danny Rohl at 6/4.
