Pittsburgh is focused on winning a title this coming season, and if they didn't believe that Rodgers would eventually sign, the waiting around would be pointless. But it seems that the Steelers' patience may be wearing a little thin as the summer gets going.
Rodgers was decent last season with the New York Jets, throwing for 3,897 yards with 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. The Steelers likely see Rodgers as a stop-gap type of quarterback, but one who could lead them to the promised land as well.
Rodgers would get the chance to throw the ball to star wide receiver DK Metcalf if he joined the Steelers, giving him a legitimate offensive weapon. Pittsburgh also has a strong defensive unit, something that Rodgers has typically done well with over the course of his career.
The former Super Bowl-winning signal-caller still has something to prove on the field, especially with many doubting his abilities. Landing with the Steelers could be a perfect match, but the longer this goes on, the less time players can develop chemistry.
The veteran has been known for his off-the-field antics, and it seems that they are at play here once again. Pittsburgh wants Rodgers in town, but they can't wait for him to make a decision forever.
