As Liverpool prepare to defend their Premier League crown, Arne Slot’s first (proper) summer as manager is poised to deliver significant squad changes.
The Dutchman has always maintained that his initial summer at the club was to take stock of his options and plan for this upcoming window.
But there are more than likely exits also planned to help raise funds for incoming business.
Caoimhin Kelleher’s eight-year Liverpool career appears destined to conclude this summer, with the Irish goalkeeper seeking regular first-team football.
Despite deputizing admirably during Alisson Becker’s injury absences (20 appearances, 7 clean sheets in 2024/25), the impending arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia for £29 million has solidified his fate
Kelleher, whose contract expires in 2026, is valued at £25–30 million, representing “pure profit” under Premier League financial rules due to his academy status.
Left-back Kostas Tsimikas could leave after five seasons, with Leeds United positioning themselves as frontrunners.
The Greek international, 29, contributed 8 assists in 1,584 minutes this term but could be moved on just the club secure the signing of Milos Kerkez.
And another man who has serious chances of leaving is Harvey Elliott.
Under Klopp in 2023/24, Elliott established himself as a versatile attacking midfielder, amassing 2,784 minutes across 53 appearances—a figure nearly matching his full-season tally during his 2020/21 loan at Blackburn.
His contributions included 4 goals and 11 assists.
This season England U21 international has started just two Premier League games this season.
He admitted he must “do what’s best for my career” after a campaign yielding only 821 minutes across all competition.
Now Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany have confirmed that Elliott’s departure is possible and the club will not stand in his way:
“A departure of Harvey Elliott is possible,” the German reporter wrote.
“There are many interesting enquiries, and talks are ongoing. Liverpool would not stand in his way if a suitable offer comes in.”
“His contract runs until 2027. 5 goals and 3 assists across all competitions so far this season.”
