Forget the Europa League final, this sickening Manchester United transfer blow would be even worse - opinion

Manchester United lost in the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur – but the worst could still be yet to come for the Red Devils.

A bitter night in Bilbao. No United player turned up against Spurs, and Ruben Amorim’s side were punished in what was yet another miserable showing in the 24/25 campaign.

Not only was the loss brutal in the fact it ended Spurs’ trophy drought, but it also had severe financial implications for United. A win would’ve granted the Reds Champions League football, and with it, a shedload of cash.

Now, money may have to be extracted in other ways, with player sales seemingly at the forefront of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s thinking. One of which would be hideous to witness as a Red Devils supporter.

Bruno Fernandes leaving Manchester United would be hideous

Bruno Fernandes has been Manchester United’s best player this season, by a country mile. The Portuguese Magnifico is the epitome of everything good, albeit very little, at the club – and selling Bruno would be a disaster.

Fernandes has been linked to Saudi, with clubs in the Middle East willing to pay a reported £120m to secure the 30-year-old’s signature.

Whilst funds are of the essence, to see him depart would be simply heartbreaking. Fernandes loves United to bits, and that feeling is reciprocated from supporters, with a mass thread on Reddit gaining traction recently, calling the decision to sell, if it came about, an ‘atrocious’ one.

Bruno Must Not Leave!

Losing Bruno would mean losing Manchester United’s captain, the heartbeat of the side, and the most genuine player the Red Devils have had the luxury of having during the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.

The big question – will he depart Old Trafford for good?

Will Bruno Fernandes leave Manchester United?

Right now, it’s uncertain, but Bruno himself has claimed that an exit could be on the cards.

“I have always been honest. I’ve always said I will be here until the club says to me that it’s time to go,” Bruno told TNT Sports.

“I’m eager to do more, to be able to bring the club the great days. In the day that the club thinks that I’m too much or it’s time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it. But I’ve always said it and I keep my word in the same way.

“If the club thinks it’s time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it’s what it is, and football sometimes is like this.”

"If the club thinks its time to leave… that is what it is"

Only time will tell as to whether Bruno will seriously leave Manchester, but if he does, there will certainly be further uproar among United supporters.
