Bayern Outclass City to Secure Group Win

Bayern Munich and Manchester City faced off in a decisive match to determine the winner of the group and who would face the runner-up of Group 2 in the semi-finals. The game featured early goals, but Bayern ultimately proved to be the stronger side, securing a 3–1 victory.

Bayern opened the scoring with a spectacular goal from Dallmann. Jess Park and Clinton attempted to close her down, but Dallmann was too quick. Manchester City responded with an equalizer through Fujino, who was given too much space at the edge of the box and capitalized on the opportunity.

Bayern nearly retook the lead when Tanikawa struck the side netting. The German club dominated the physical battles and often outsmarted City with sharp one-touch passing and strong build-up play. Despite Bayern’s dominance, the teams went into the break level at 1–1.

Dallmann received the tournament’s first official yellow card for blocking Fujino’s throw-in while being subbed off. Tuva Hansen had earlier been booked for excessive celebration, but that card was later rescinded due to the more relaxed officiating standards of the [World Sevens Football Tournament](https://womenfootball.blog/world-sevens-tournament-information-teams-and-where-to-watch/).

Bayern regained the lead in the 18th minute with a thunderous strike from Zigiotti, perfectly set up by Maria Plattner. Minutes later, Damnjanović was also booked for obstructing goalkeeper Keating.

Kerolin attempted to level the score with a charge toward Mahmutovic, but the Bayern keeper came off her line to make a crucial block.

There was a brief pause in play when City’s goalkeeper, Eve Annets, collided with a Bayern player and had to leave the field with a noticeable bump on her head. Immediately after the restart, Bayern scored again—this time Plattner beat Keating to bring the score to 3–1. Manchester City failed to comeback into the game, giving the top spot in the group to Bayern.
