After a serious leg injury that needed emergency surgery last season, the Detroit Lions got a huge boost to their team.
“I’m fully cleared,” Aidan Hutchinson told reporters on Thursday.
During the third quarter against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6, Hutchinson sacked Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and collided with teammate Alim McNeill as he spun around on the play. Hutchinson’s leg appeared to snap above the ankle as he remained on the ground for several minutes.
The 2022 No. 2 overall pick underwent emergency surgery for a compound fracture and missed the rest of the season.
Entering that game, Hutchinson led the NFL with 6.5 sacks. He finished his shortened season with 7.5 sacks, 17 quarterback hits and seven tackles for loss.
The Lions made it to the NFC Division Game where they fell to the Washington Commanders.
