Ineos are ready to spend Ruben Amorim's entire £100m transfer budget on quickfire summer double deal

Manchester United’s Europa League final defeat has restricted the summer transfer budget.

It is no secret that Manchester United have been struggling financially. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has publicly revealed that United were on track to run out of cash this year.

The Europa League final was hugely important financially as it would have qualified United for the Champions League next season, guaranteeing a payout of over £100 million.

With no European football next season, it will inevitably damage United’s summer transfer plans.

Ineos will continue to back Amorim and attempt to overhaul the squad this summer, but they don’t have a huge budget to play with.

Ineos have spent £100m Man United budget

According to The Guardian, Ruben Amorim will have a transfer budget of just under £100 million for the summer transfer window.

Amorim revealed United had two transfer plans heading into the Europa League final, with Ineos preparing a separate plan for if the Red Devils lost the final.

With United in talks for a £62.5m Matheus Cunha deal, signing the Wolves star would already take a huge dent out of the summer budget.

Liam Delap is a top target for £30m, so already Ineos have identified two signings that, combined, would essentially drain the entire budget.

Ineos appear to be wasting no time with their transfer plans – both Cunha and Delap could arrive fairly early into the summer window. It opens on June 1st.

How Man United could grow transfer budget with triple sale

While United have a reported budget of just under £100 million, that is what the club can afford without being forced into sales.

However, there will be a huge clearout of United’s squad this summer which should inflate the budget.

Marcus Rashford is expected to leave and United have set an asking price of around £40 million. Real Betis want to keep Antony, so Ineos can negotiate a potential permanent transfer for the Brazilian.

Chelsea have an obligatory buy clause for Jadon Sancho unless they pay a £5 million penalty fee. All three sales should provide a huge financial boost for United.

Alejandro Garnacho’s comments after the final also suggest he could be headed for the exit. Ineos have not ruled out selling the young winger this summer.

If Ineos are able to get sales over the line, more signings should follow the likes of Cunha and Delap.
