The Philadelphia 76ers were undoubtedly one of the most, if not the most, disappointing teams of the 2024-25 season.

The 76ers' season was disappointing from the start, and a lot of it was due to injuries. 76ers star forward Paul George suffered a significant injury during the preseason, and Joel Embiid entered the season with knee troubles, which caused him to play only 19 games.
The star duo did not work out in their first season together; however, the 76ers aren't giving up on them just yet, at least according to NBA insider Jake Fischer.
Fischer noted that the 76ers are expected to run it back with George and Embiid heading into the 2025-26 season.
"There have been no indications that they are looking to package George with the No. 3 pick or try to move him on his own," he wrote. "The Sixers surely understand that there is little-to-no chance they could optimize a trade return for the 35-year-old after his injury-riddled maiden season as a Sixer ... especially with three seasons remaining on George's max deal."
It was a nightmarish season for a team that was supposed to be one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. The 76ers finished the season with a 24-58 record, good for the 13th seed in the East.
Fischer also added that the 76ers aren't hellbent on trading George, considering they had signed him to a multi-year contract. Not only is that the case, but the 76ers may not get as much value as they would like if they were to trade him this offseason, considering his injuries and poor play this past season.
George's season was mediocre at best, averaging lows across the board from the past few seasons, 16.2 points per game on 43 percent shooting, including 35.8 percent from three-point range, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.8 steals.
Embiid was stellar on the court, but like for the majority of his career, he couldn't stay healthy. In 19 games, he averaged 23.8 points per game, 8.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 0.9 blocks while shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 29.9 percent from three.
ESPN's Jonathan Givony did mention that the 76ers could be looking to trade George and their No. 3 overall pick on draft night for a superstar player.
The 76ers will look to be healthy and in contention all of next season, hoping that George and Embiid will lead them.
