OKC Thunder are one series away from NBA Finals

OKLAHOMA CITY (KSWO) - From the best regular season record in the NBA (68-14) to Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, the Thunder have their eyes on the prize.

The Thunder have been nothing short of dominant this season, and after their dominant Game 7 win at home against the Denver Nuggets, their hopes of making and winning the finals are still alive.

Now, the Thunder aren’t quite there yet; they still have to get past Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves, but the Thunder have jumped out in front after a strong win in Game 1, 114-88.

Everything seems to be lining up for the Thunder this year: the best record in the league, an NBA MVP in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and now, playing in the Western Conference Finals.

Thursday night will be Game 2 of the seven-game series, and with the Thunder at home, the momentum stays in their favor, but if we’ve learned anything about sports, the series isn’t over until it’s over.

It’s been since 2016, since the Thunder made an appearance in the Western Conference Finals, and they haven’t been in the Finals since 2012.

The young Thunder team is looking to change the narrative, hoping that the stars continue to align.
