The Seattle Seahawks shared Jalen Milroe will wear No. 6 as an NFL rookie, and it appears the choice to wear the number was not his.

Milroe was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He has signed a four-year contract worth $6.26 million, including a $1.19 million signing bonus, according to ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter.

A statement Milroe made at his first official in-person media availability with the Seattle Seahawks media has gotten a lot of attention as of late as he shared why he decided not to select a number as a rookie.

“I didn’t select the number,” Milroe said. “I know there’s vets on the team. I’m going to pay respect to them. They’ve been here before me. When the time comes, I will select a number, but right now I ain’t going to choose a number.”

Milroe looks to be in a position, where he could sit and learn behind veteran NFL quarterback, Sam Darnold.
