When the Washington Commanders took Jayden Daniels out of LSU, some weren’t so sure about his prospects in the pros.
He was rather lanky, and given his tendency to draw contact, there were major concerns about his durability.
Daniels went away from that tendency in his first season in the league, getting rid of the football quickly and avoiding taking unnecessary hits.
Even so, he sustained a rib injury that forced him to miss a game.
Now, as he enters his second season in the pros, it looks like he’s been hitting the gym and drinking his protein shakes.
As shown by MLFootball on X, Daniels looks bulked up in training camp.

Granted, Daniels will most likely never be absolutely ripped or heavy, and that’s fine.
He thrives off his mobility and agility, and giving up some of that for the sake of adding more muscle might not be in his best interests.
Nevertheless, given his impressive arm strength and athleticism, adding even more power to his impressive touch could be lethal to opposing defenses.
More than that, being sure to stay on the field is perhaps the most important thing any player can do, especially a quarterback.
The Commanders revamped their offensive line to make sure to keep him out of harm’s way.
And while there’s always a chance that he will regress in his second season in the league like many other young quarterbacks, he’s clearly been putting in the work to make sure that won’t be the case with him.
