The procedure was deemed successful, and Moody is expected to make a full recovery ahead of training camp for the 2025-26 NBA season.

The 22-year-old had his most productive year in a Warriors uniform during the 2024-25 campaign, averaging 9.8 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. He appeared in 74 regular-season games and shot an impressive 37.4% from beyond the arc, starting in a career-high 34 contests.

Despite a strong regular season, Moody’s thumb injury clearly affected his performance in the postseason. He averaged just 7.1 points on 35.0% shooting in the playoffs, as his minutes were reduced during the Western Conference Semifinals against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

However, he did have a standout moment in Game 5 of the first round, dropping 25 points and grabbing 9 rebounds in a 131-116 loss to the Houston Rockets.

Before the season tipped off, Moody signed a three-year, $37.5 million contract extension that kicks in this summer, increasing his cap hit to $11.57 million for 2025-26.

That makes him the fourth-highest-paid Warrior next season, behind only Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green.
