Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer encourages his team as Auburn Tigers take on Alabama Crimson Tide at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024. Alabama Crimson Tide defeated Auburn Tigers 28-14.
Alabama football’s head coach Kalen DeBoer joined Greg McElroy’s show “Always College Football” earlier in the week and provided his thoughts on the Crimson Tide players putting in offseason work with NFL players.
DeBoer and the Crimson Tide are coming off of a disappointing 9-4 season in 2024. DeBoer and his coaching staff will aim to turn things around over the course of the 2025 season, and the Alabama head coach looks to want to get things rolling in a positive direction with a strong summer.
“I just saw, and I knew this was going to happen, these guys were talking about it over a month ago, many of them going and meeting at a location here in the month of May,” DeBoer said. “We’ve cautioned them not to do too much, because the summer is going to be the hardest one they’ve ever been through.”
Players like Ryan Williams, Germie Bernard, Ty Simpson, Isaiah Horton, and many others have been working out this offseason with top-tier trainers across the country. It should only help in the long run, but it is interesting to hear DeBoer talk about how difficult the summer will be for each of them.
Nevertheless, the grind of the offseason is something that is certainly welcome in Tuscaloosa, and DeBoer seems to see nothing wrong with his players putting their best foot forward in order to prepare for the 2025 season.
