Manchester United and PSG battled for the top spot in the group in the final game of Matchday 2. Waiting in the semi-finals are Manchester City and Bayern Munich—two strong teams, with Bayern in particular having impressed so far in the [World Sevens Football Tournament](https://womenfootball.blog/world-sevens-tournament-information-teams-and-where-to-watch/). After topping the group, Man Utd will face off with Man City in the semi finals.
Karchaoui opened the scoring just 13 seconds in, before Manchester United had even touched the ball. However, PSG couldn’t hold the lead for long, as Le Tissier equalised for United in the 5th minute. After those early goals, both teams slowed the pace slightly heading into the break.
PSG came flying out of the gates again after halftime, retaking the lead within 30 seconds thanks to a goal from Echegini. Manchester United responded once more, drawing level when Simpson found the net from a corner.
Karchaoui had a standout performance, creating two big chances in the second half, but both were saved brilliantly by Kayla Rendell. The Manchester United goalkeeper was instrumental in the final minutes, helping her side force extra time.
During extra time, no substitutions were allowed and only five players remained on the pitch for each team. There were few clear chances, with the best opportunity being Naalsund’s volley, which flew over the crossbar. With the score still level, the match headed to sudden death penalties.
Manchester United stepped up for the first penalty and hit it in the bottom corner.

Finally, Geyoro hit the crossbar, handing victory to Manchester United. They top their group and advance to face Manchester City in the semi-finals.
