However, a new report says that sources close to the Premier League club have dismissed the idea of bidding such a high amount. While the player is appreciated by the Villa staff and has been on their radar, they consider Barcelona’s asking price unrealistic.
Torres, 25, has delivered a strong season for the Catalan side, racking up 19 goals and 9 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. His contributions, particularly in the latter stages of the Copa del Rey where he finished as top scorer, have boosted his status within the squad. Flick sees him as a natural successor to Robert Lewandowski and a valuable option as a striker.
Crucially, Torres has no intention of leaving Barcelona. He’s reportedly happy with his role and views the current project under Flick as the right environment for his development. Club insiders reportedly suggest that unless an extraordinary offer comes in, Torres will remain part of the team moving forward.
