Eagles and Saquon Take Victory Lap After Tush Push Win

It's been a great few months for the Philadelphia Eagles. Not only did the organization win Super Bowl LIX in one of the most dominating exhibitions in league history, but they also won off the field as recently as Wednesday.

Philadelphia saw a vote to ban their beloved Tush Push fail at the owners meetings in Minnesota this week. The final vote of 22-10 was two votes shy of passing through - detailing how close things got to seeing an end to the muscular variation of the quarterback sneak.

A close vote doesn't matter to the Eagles, though. They are relaxing and celebrating another win as OTAs get started. And one of those celebrations comes from All-Pro running back Saquon Barkley.

Barkley joined Cooper DeJean and Reed Blankenship on the "Exciting Mics" podcast on Thursday and spoke out against the teams who voted against the play.

"For me, personally as a player, I know that if I don't want to do a 'Tush Push' on the one-yard line, make sure I score," Barkley said. "I think I got tackled at the one-yard line like 11 times (last season). The banning thing of it, I think it's soft, to be honest. I think the teams that want to ban it...everybody can do it. It's not like a play that we only can do."

Barkley's sentiments are similar to what head coach Nick Sirianni has brought forth in defense of the play.

"If everybody could do it, everybody would do it," Sirianni said after a win in 2023.

Yet while the league looks on in frustration, the Eagles are clearly celebrating their latest win in positive fashion.
