Since being drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020, Jalen Hurts has not only become the face of the organization, but a Super Bowl champion and MVP.
Hurts' heroics when it matters most in the postseason has been celebrated over the last four years along with his 46-20 record as a starting quarterback. Coming off a win in Super Bowl LIX, though, the signal-caller is looking to make adjustments going into his sixth NFL season.
“Well, it’s an adjustment period,” Hurts said to NFL reporter Ed Kracz on Wednesday. “There are different things that I have to do within the building that have evolved and changed. I think that’s just the reality of some of these things. It’s my discipline and my focus on what the main thing is and staying true to that.”
After his first run at the Super Bowl in 2022, Hurts seemed to crumble under the weight of his expansive portfolio. That doesn't appear to be happening this year, though.
Hurts' is a married man, and is prepared to continue to excel at the NFL level. That understanding and focus has helped him continue to reinvent himself as Philadelphia's signal-caller.
“It’s maturity, and growth, and development,” Hurts said. “You’re always trying to try to improve and find that next one percent.”
Philadelphia has never seen this level of consistent winning under any quarterback in the postseason … making Hurts special in that way. As he prepares with hopes he can be the first signal-caller in team history to win the Super Bowl twice, Hurts' legacy seems to just be getting started.
