Leeds United won't have to wait much longer to begin their business, as the summer transfer window reopens on June 1.
It will be a significant period for Daniel Farke and his squad to get their approach right ahead of their dream return to the Premier League for the 2025/2026 season. Investment will be crucial if the club wants to defy recent history.
In the last two years, all six clubs who have won promotion back to the English top-flight have been relegated. This time around, the Whites will be keen to make history and remain in the division for years to come.
As several players continue to be linked with a switch to Elland Road, here Leeds Live has taken a look at the latest transfer news and rumours;
Vladyslav Vanat battle
Leedshave reportedly been eyeing up a move to snap-up Ukrainian goal-scorer Vladyslav Vanat. The club are expected to sign a new attacker to provide competition for Joel Piroe.
Vanat, who emerged as a potential candidate back in March, reportedly has a £16.8 million release clause in his contract. In a new update from journalist Mikhail Spivakovsky (relayed by Dynamo.Kiev.ua), it's claimed that Sunderland have now entered the race for the 23-year-old - adding him to their short-list as one of two or three options.
Besides Leeds, Brentford, West Ham, Fulham and Wolves are all said to be in the mix.
LeedsLive says: This won't be an easy coup for the Whites as the youngster continues to attract interest from a number of Premier League sides. This could come as a blow for Farke and key figures behind-the-scenes given there is a possibility that Vanat could opt to join a club who are more established in the Premier League. With his release clause relatively modest by top-flight standards, competition for his signature is likely to intensify as the summer window progresses - making Leeds' pursuit even more challenging.
Kalvin Phillips 'return'
Journalist Graeme Bailey has revealed that Kalvin Phillips wants to return to Elland Road this summer. Speaking to LeedsUnited.News, he said: "Leeds are looking at the Phillips situation intently. He wants to come back.
"It won't be a permanent deal, I think it's the perfect opportunity for Leeds - and Leeds should do everything they can to bring him back. He could be extraordinarily good. He's still a very good Premier League player."
The Manchester City star spent last season on loan, at Ipswich Town, while boss Kieran McKenna expressed some doubts about him playing again for Pep Guardiola's side.
However, he admitted being open to having him back at Portman Road next term.
The midfielder was limited to just 14 starts in the top flight due to fitness issues.
LeedsLive says: A return from Phillips would very much be welcomed, especially when he's somebody who's well familiar with the club. At 29, he would be able to offer the Whites Premier League experience, plus much-needed leadership in midfield.
His understanding of the club's culture, along with his tenacity and defensive awareness, could make him an ideal fit for Farke's setup. While injuries and limited minutes have stalled his career at Man City and West Ham, a move back to Elland Road could offer Phillips the platform to revive top form. If Leeds do pursue him - despite potential interest from Ipswich - Farke's side would have a clear advantage over the newly-relegated club.
