A former Southampton FC player has had a fine of more than £13,000 slashed down to £576 after his case for speeding in his Range Rover was reopened.
On January 8, Greater Manchester Magistrates' Court heard that Nathan Redmond exceeded the 40mph speed limit on the A5103 Princess Parkway in Northenden, Manchester, on October 9 in his 73 plate car.
The winger, who made 195 appearances for Southampton between 2016 and 2022, pleaded guilty.
He originally had his license endorsed with six points and was fined £13,384.

However, after an application his case was reopened and his previous conviction and fine was set aside.
Under Section 142 of the Magistrates' Courts Act 1980, a magistrates' court may vary or rescind a sentence or other order if it appears to the court to be in the interests of justice to do so.
Redmond was resentenced and instead fined £576, also having to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £230.
His driving license was also endorsed with six points.
