Manchester City had a great goalkeeper in their ranks in Joe Hart before bringing in another top stopper in Ederson.
Joe Hart was the man between the sticks when Manchester City won their first Premier League title.
Meanwhile, Ederson has been a mainstay in Pep Guardiola’s squad over the past few years, including during the treble-winning 2022/23 campaign.
Kevin De Bruyne, who is set to leave City this summer, has now spoken about both goalkeepers and shared which one he rates more highly.

Manchester City legend Kevin De Bruyne picks Ederson over Joe Hart
De Bruyne has been tasked with picking his all-time Man City XI and, when he came to the goalkeeper, he said it would be between Ederson and Hart.

He admitted it was a “tough choice” to get the ball rolling for his all-time selection.
De Bruyne went with Ederson due to the fact he made many more appearances alongside the Brazilian than with Hart.
“It’s between Eddie and Joe,” said De Bruyne. “I’m probably going to pick Eddie for the amount of time I played with him.
“I think Joe is an unbelievable line goalkeeper, and I think Eddie with his feet is exceptional.
“So far, the way that we played and for the amount of time. I’m going to pick Eddie, even though Joe is unbelievable.
“Yeah, it’s a tough choice to start!”
Micah Richards previously picked Hart as his goalkeeper in his all-time City six-a-side team.
How Ederson and Joe Hart compared at Manchester City
Hart joined City back in 2006 for a mere £600,000 sum, which ended up being an absolute bargain considering his place in the club’s history books.
He made 348 appearances for City, keeping 137 clean sheets, and he won two Premier League titles, including the all-important 2011/12 triumph that cemented City as a real force in football.
Hart also won the 2011 FA Cup, which ended City’s trophy drought, and also lifted two League Cups.
However, Hart’s style of play did not match what Pep Guardiola wanted from a goalkeeper, namely having good distribution and being comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Therefore, City ended up loaning Hart out to Torino and West Ham before selling him to Burnley for a fee said to be around £3.5million.
Meanwhile, Ederson joined City in 2017 for £35million, and he has made 368 appearances to date for the club, keeping 166 clean sheets.
Ederson has won six Premier League titles at City, along with a Champions League, a FIFA Club World Cup, two FA Cups, four League Cups, three Community Shields and a UEFA Supercup.
However, Ederson’s City future is now uncertain amid links with the Saudi Pro League.
