It looks set to be another big summer for Chelsea in the transfer window.
There have already been plenty of rumours, links and gossip surrounding who could be coming or going, plus many decisions to be made on loanees and youngsters in the academy.
football.london understands that the Blues are definitely in the market for a striker this summer. They have four players on a shortlist currently, though face plenty of competition should they wish to land any of their top targets.
On that list are Ipswich Town's Liam Delap, Jonathan David, Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike. Victor Osimhen is also of interest, though he is the oldest of the group and would likely cost the most money to sign.
Rumours have grown in recent weeks that the Nigerian star will be on the move from Napoli this summer, having spent the year on loan at Galatasaray. After 25 goals in 29 Super Lig games, during which he fired his team to the league title, it seems the striker is keen on a big move.
The 26-year-old has previously admitted his dream of completing a move to the Premier League, though whether the Blues make a move to help him realise that dream is another matter.
Instead, rumours in France have now linked Ekitike as a likely candidate at Stamford Bridge. However, the reports claim that while Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed that the 22-year-old will be allowed to leave the club, they are hoping for between €80million-€100million (£67.2million-£84million) to sanction a deal.
While the Blues are likely to have money to spend this summer, that's a lot to invest on a 22-year-old with no experience in the Premier League. But it could be the move which makes most sense of those the club are linked with.
Rumours have been strong over a move for Delap to Manchester United this summer, even if they have now failed to qualify for the Champions League. His £30million release clause means they will likely be desperate to get a move over the line as soon as possible.
Sesko has been linked with Arsenal among others, but seems to be happy enough staying at RB Leipzig if the perfect offer does not arrive for him to leave this summer. Jonathan David would certainly be the best value for money after leaving Lile on a free transfer, but all signs point to him wanting to be first choice when he moves, which would not be guaranteed with Chelsea amid a battle with Nicolas Jackson for the No.9 role.
Ekitike seems to be the most convenient fit for Chelsea other than Osimhen - and it could be a straight decision between the two for Blues sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Lawrence Stewart.
