A lifelong Liverpool fan who went to her first match in 1945 to "find a fella" has not missed a game 80 years on. Margaret Pickavant, better known as Peggy, has been going to the match since she was 14 years old.
The 94-year-old, who is originally from Everton, used to go to the match with her late husband, Tommy, and has a lot of special memories attached to the stadium.
Peggy's love for the club was borne out of a desire to meet a partner, but she soon fell in love with football, and has been a season ticket-holder since they were first issued in 1967.
She told the ECHO: "To be honest I was going to go to Everton's ground but Everton were playing away. So I ended up going to Liverpool's ground.
"I was looking for a fella, and I knew if I went to a football match there would be plenty of men there. I was 6ft tall with a massive head of hair. I didn't think a fella would look at me twice, I was a real tomboy.

"Not many women went to the match in those days. There was about nine of us ladies who would stand behind the goal. One lady used to bring a flask of tea and some cups and saucers. We used to have a cup of tea behind the goal."
Recalling one of her favourite memories at Anfield, the nan-of-12 and a great-nan of 21 described how she "signed on for Liverpool" after being invited into the boardroom with Peter Robinson, former Chief Executive at the club.
She said: "You could have a party at Anfield in those days. If you were having a party there, you could go and have a look at the trophies in the boardroom and hold them. I told my son to come with me because I knew the fella who had the keys to the boardroom.

"I knocked on the door and Peter Robinson opened it. He asked me if I was with the party and invited me in. He made me sit down and sign on for Liverpool, and on the same table was Kenny Dalglish and Sid Reakes.
"They gave me a whiskey because I was shaking - I thought I was only going in to have a look at the trophies!"
Since 1945, Peggy has seen the Reds lift 47 major trophies, including 20 league titles, 8 FA Cups, 10 League Cups, 6 European Cups, and 3 UEFA Cups. They also have one FIFA Club World Cup, 4 UEFA Super Cups, and 16 FA Community Shields.
When asked how she reacted to the club winning the Premier League this year, Peggy said: "It was absolutely fantastic. I always look for them to win the league."
Peggy said her "dream" is to meet the team: "To me, they're my idols. I would love to be on that [parade] bus with them all."
