The day Liverpool fans have been waiting so long to see is finally set to arrive on Sunday as Arne Slot’s team lift the Premier League trophy.
Supporters have had to watch as the likes of Newcastle, Crystal Palace and even Tottenham have lifted trophies over recent months.
But having secured the title almost one month ago, Sunday will finally be Liverpool’s moment. It has been a long, long wait.
Something else fans have had to be patient over is the arrival of Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili at Anfield.
Mamardashvili was signed last August but was immediately shipped back to Valencia for the season. In the months since, whether the Georgian would ever actually play for Liverpool has been something of a hot topic.
But on Thursday, Mamardashvili confirmed he will not go out on loan again and will definitely be a Liverpool player for the 2025/26 season. And having got that out of the way, the 24-year-old has admitted that there is something he can’t wait to experience with the Reds.

Los Che do still have one match left, which comes on Friday night away at Real Betis.

How much will Mamardashvili play?
It was great to hear Mamardashvili end all speculation and confirm that he will definitely spend next season as a Liverpool goalkeeper.
Of course, that does rubberstamp the fact that Caoimhin Kelleher is incredibly likely to leave, but that was never really in doubt anyway.
As Kelleher can attest, Mamardashvili should get his fair share of game time next season. The Georgia international will have to be ready for anything.
In reality, though, the pecking order is already clear. Barring injury, Mamardashvili will be behind Alisson Becker next season.
Injury is, unfortunately, something that often cannot be avoided with Alisson, though. As a result, we could see Mamardashvili a decent amount next season. At the very least he will be given the Carabao Cup matches, and potentially some Champions League and FA Cup games, too.
