Brentford transfer seems to be slipping away – Club refusing to sell for “peanuts”

Brentford’s move for Feyenoord youngster Antoni Milambo seems to be slipping away, with the Dutch club determined to get a big fee for the midfielder.

That’s [at least if the latest from Voetbal Primeur](https://www.voetbalprimeur.nl/nieuws/1300586/boskamp-waarschuwt-feyenoord-je-zou-nu-zeggen-hadden-we-hem-nog-maar.html) and analyst Jan Boskamp is anything to go by, as he insists Feyenoord don’t want to sell Milambo for “peanuts”.

The youngster appeared to be all set for a move to Brentford this summer, with various reports in the Netherlands stating that a deal was being done. He even travelled to England for talks with Brentford.

What has followed is a series of reports pulling the transfer back, with it claimed that Milambo was having cold feet at first. This was then followed by Feyenoord director Dennis te Kloese insisting they wouldn’t sell on the cheap and then various pundits and journalists warning the club not to do the deal.

Boskamp can now be added to that list, with him urging the Dutch side to think carefully about any deal involving Brentford and Milambo this summer.

It seems the feeling he’s gotten from the club is that they now consider the prices being discussed as far too cheap for their liking.

_“I would also think about Milambo and Brentford,”_ he said.

_“They have Sem Steijn now, but Milambo can also take a step back. I thought Dennis te Kloese’s reaction was very good. That they are not going to sell their own player for peanuts.”_
