Liverpool player starts organising life in new city–Wants to be ready if Reds agree fee

Darwin Núñez has decided to leave Liverpool in the summer window, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Reds paid €85m for the striker in 2022 and he hasn’t met their expectations. Núñez gradually lost prominence at Anfield and has been limited to a substitute role in recent months.

Therefore, the 25-year-old wants to leave Liverpool, and his agent has offered him to several clubs.

The Uruguay international’s priority is to join Atlético Madrid and he feels he can recover his best version under Diego Simeone.

Earlier this week, Cadena Ser stated the La Liga club are considering the Liverpool player as an option for next season. Mundo back that up and add the possibility of signing the former Benfica man is taken ‘very seriously’.

The newspaper states the Spanish club are that serious that Núñez has ‘already started moving to organise his life in Madrid’ so he’s prepared if they were to find an agreement with the Reds.

Liverpool can’t recoup €85m and have to lower their request, if they wish to part ways with him. Los Rojiblancos are looking for the right formula and prefer to sign Núñez on loan with a mandatory purchase option.
