Exclusive: Man Utd player now 'actively looking to get out' after 2024-25 season struggles, he has 'accepted his fate'

Manchester United are set up for a summer of change with several players expected to be sold in a much-needed clear-out.

Ruben Amorim will be delighted that this nightmarish campaign is almost over.

There is only one game remaining, with Aston Villa coming to Old Trafford on Sunday, although this game will have a post-season feel for Manchester United.

This is due to the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham, which saw any positives around the campaign come crashing down.

It was a toothless performance from United, in which Amorim made several mistakes, and the players also failed to turn up. With no European football next season, United’s squad is going to shrink, and already, Alejandro Garnacho’s future at United has been cast into doubt.

Now, another Old Trafford player is pushing for an exit route.

Rasmus Hojlund wants Manchester United exit

This season has seen United struggle to score the goals required to be a top side, with Rasmus Hojlund proving himself to be lacking the quality to start up front.

Hojlund was poor against Spurs, and now it would appear that his fate has been sealed.

United in Focus has spoken with transfer expert Graeme Bailey to learn more around Hojlund’s future, which looks to lie elsewhere.

“Hojlund is actively looking to get out at United as well now, he’s accepted his fate, and he knows what it is.

“Whether it be to Italy or Germany, where his brothers are playing, I think everyone has accepted that it is best to move on now and get as much money back as they can.

“The player accepts it, and it is a likely scenario that they part ways.”

After the season Hojlund has had, with just 10 goals in 51 games, it is no shock that all parties are aware that an upgrade is needed. However, which number nine is looking like the most likely addition for United?

Latest on Manchester United’s striker chase, Liam Delap or Viktor Gyokeres?

Much has been made of United’s striker search, with it expected to be the priority this summer following the arrival of Matheus Cunha. Now, Bailey has told United in Focus the latest around who United wants as the new striker.

In relation to Viktor Gyokeres, Bailey admitted the player is not entirely convinced about joining United.

“I’m told that Gyokeres doesn’t see the United move as a real fit for him. He is very sensible when it comes to picking his clubs, and I’m not sure United will be on his radar.”

He added that Victor Osimhen is a name which comes up more often, before sharing the latest on the favourite to arrive, Liam Delap.

“Delap’s a firm favourite, I wouldn’t say he’s nailed on just yet, but very, very likely to be joining United. The thing with Delap is it’s the player’s choice and he is favouring United and wants to live in the North West, which will swing it for him.”

Signing Delap would be a strong Hojlund replacement, but it might leave United needing a second striker addition to aid the Ipswich player in settling in at United.
