Belief Leicester City player can be signed for just €10m – Foxes may think otherwise

Leicester City’s Wout Faes was first linked with a move to Lazio in the January transfer window.

There was talk that an offer was made to sign the Belgian but the complexity of a transfer made sure that nothing materialised, and it felt like the player’s agents were pushing the whole thing.

Earlier this month, Corriere dello Sport stated the defender is still very much a target for the Rome club and Leicester City would be ready to sell him in the summer.

An update has now emerged about Faes’ future at the King Power. Rome-based newspaper Il Messaggero report Lazio could lose Spanish centre-back Mario Gila in the summer and are keeping an eye on Faes as a replacement.

One key reason behind it is the low price-tag. The belief is that due to the Foxes’ relegation, the Belgium international can now be signed for €10m.

Leicester City signed the defender from Rennes for a fee that went up to €20m back in 2022 and they could now be earning half of that from his sale.

The 27-year-old’s current contract runs out in the summer of 2027 and this suggests that €10m may be quite low for a player who has picked up a lot of Premier League experience.
