Brighton ‘ready to attack at €30-35m’ – Seagulls plan to put bid on table

Over the past two days, Bournemouth have been linked with a move for Lazio’s Mario Gila. Now, Brighton have emerged as a candidate to land the centre-back.

The Spaniard has played 42 times in all competitions this season and since his arrival from Real Madrid in 2022, he’s grown in stature as he’s added experience.

Given his rise, it’s no surprise clubs in England are now keeping an eye on Gila and Corriere dello Sport report today that Brighton have been on the defender’s trail for a month now.

They are already interested in making an offer for the Spain international. The newspaper claim that the Seagulls are ‘ready to attack at €30m-€35m’.

Real Madrid have a 50% sell-on clause in the defender’s contract and as a result, Lazio will ask for a high fee in the event of an offer for the player. This is why there is currently no mention of what price Brighton will have to pay for Gila.

The 24-year-old is likely to evaluate every offer that comes his way but Fabian Hurzeler’s side will have an advantage due to their higher position in the Premier League table, when compared to Bournemouth.

The centre-back dreams of a move back to Real Madrid but Los Blancos have never made any contact to bring him back.
