Can AFCB Finish In Ninth Place Again?
Another record-breaking season, including our highest ever for goals scored in the Premier League and beating our points record in this league for the second season running. Three firsts, double over Arsenal and Southampton, beating Manchester City. Also, our best season away from home in Premier League history, breaking more records. Can our club equal the 2016-17 season, when we finished in 9th spot? It is the highest AFCB have finished in the Premier League.

Our fans have really enjoyed some of the best entertaining football seen this season, which has drawn many admirers from outside our club. The Cherries last game of the season is at home at Dean Court on Sunday at 4 pm. Our visitors are relegated Leicester City, who, after coming up from the Championship as Champions last season, are going down with the other two clubs who came up with them, Ipswich Town and Southampton.
Leicester City started their season with Steve Cooper in charge, but after a poor run of results, the Foxes parted ways with Cooper in November. Up to then, they had only won two league games, the first at home was against AFCB, and the second was the following away game against Southampton.
At the beginning of December, Ruud Van Nistelrooy took on the job as manager, but failed to keep his side in the top flight, he has had 4 wins, 3 draws and 17 defeats in his time at Leicester City going into this last game. Away from home, his side has won one game, beating Spurs. They have drawn with Brighton and Nottingham Forest. Been beaten by Newcastle United, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Everton, West Ham, Chelsea, Manchester City and Wolves. At home they won 3, drawn 1, Lost 9.
The last time Leicester City visited Dean Court was in October 2022 in the Premier League. The Foxes took the lead in the 10th minute through Patson Daka, who scored the only goal up to the whistle for half time. In the second half, two goals in three minutes scored by Philip Billing and Ryan Christie won the game for AFCB.
In our home league games against Leicester City, AFCB have W 5, D 2, L 3.
All competitions, AFCB have W 8, D 5, L 10.
AFCB Team News
Lewis Cook is suspended after receiving a red card against Manchester City.
AFCB Player To Watch
Dean Huijsen who we know will be playing his last game for our club. Been a rock in our defence alongside Illia Zabarnyi.
Leicester City Team News
Issahaku Fatawu, Bobby de Cordova Reid, Mads Hermansen and Stephy Mavididi are all out injured.
Leicester City Player To Watch
They have a young player in Bilal El Khannouss who is attracting interest from Premier League clubs, particularly Arsenal. The 21-year-old playmaker has been a regular in the Foxes team and has made 27 starts for his side this season and has scored 2 and has 3 assists. In a recent game against Southampton, he was top in the ratings, also for total shots, most tackles and dribbles.
The Referee
Lewis Smith is in charge of this game and he has never taken an AFCB game before.

Let’s face it if we can’t beat an already relegated Leicester at home, who have literally nothing to play for, then we probably don’t deserve to be in the top half ahead of the teams around us.
Even if we don’t win its still been very good season, improving on last with a record points haul.
With Cook suspended, I assume Tav starts in the 8 and Brooks starts on the wing.
Pretty weak bench, but at least it’s only for one game. Hopefully, nice weather for the last game of the season too. UTCIAD. – To join the conversation, please click here.
