Leeds United pre-season fixtures take shape as La Liga side set for Elland Road clash

Leeds United's pre-season schedule is beginning to take shape with the club now confirming their second game of the summer. The Whites have already announced they will play Manchester United in Stockholm this July, with the game part of an overseas tour and training camp for Daniel Farke's men.

Leeds have now added to the schedule a game at Elland Road against La Liga side Villarreal, with the match taking place on Saturday August 2, 2025, with a 3pm kick-off. It is not the first time Leeds have hosted the Spanish side, having played the same fixture in the summer of 2021, with Patrick Bamford and Mateusz Klich on the scoresheet that day in a 2-2 draw when the game was played in York.

While only two games have officially been announced, the Whites look set to conclude their preparations for a Premier League return with a game against Italian giants AC Milan in Dublin on Saturday August 9th, a week after the Villarreal clash.

Leeds will begin their pre-season schedule with a game against Manchester United in Stockholm at the Strawberry Arena on Saturday July 19, with the club then expected to head to Germany for a training camp that like last year, will also include a pair of fixtures.

It's a crucial summer for Leeds as they strive to be in the best possible shape for their Premier League return, with the standard of opponents lined up so far looking to give them the best possible chance to do that.
