Newcastle United star axed from England squad, in-form ace overlooked and two called up

Newcastle United duo Dan Burn and Anthony Gordon have been named in Thomas Tuchel's [England](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/all-about/england-football-team) squad for the June internationals.

However, in-form winger Jacob Murphy has been overlooked for the squad despite three goals and four assists since the last England squads were announced. Murphy had previously spoken of his dream of pulling on a Three Lions jersey, but won't be involved against Senegal or Andorra in the World Cup qualifier, which is being played in Barcelona.

Murphy's Newcastle team-mate Tino Livramento is also not included in Tuchel's squad. However, there is still scope for withdrawals with both players believed to be in FA's national pool.

Murphy had said: "I hope England are casting an eye on what I’m doing, because I feel my game would be appreciated in the setup. "I’m a different profile to every other winger in the league. Other than me, Brennan Johnson is the only other right-footed right-winger and it brings a whole different dynamic.

"There’s Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins and I’d love nothing more than to be putting it in dangerous areas for them to get on the end of. And then off the ball, there are a lot of attributes I think would complement the team. I’d love to showcase them."

[Burn will get the chance to add to his first cap](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/dan-burn-makes-weight-gain-31698950), picked up against Albania at Wembley back in March, while Gordon is aiming for his 11th appearance for his country. The home game is taking place at Nottingham Forest's City Ground.
